The Experience
Let your senses collide on a tour of three stunning art galleries and a tasting at one of the most celebrated chocolate stops in Santa Fe: Kakawa Chocolate House.
On this tour, wander inspiring sculpture gardens, marvel at cutting-edge contemporary art, and indulge in tantalizing chocolate elixirs that stimulate the senses.
Visit Must-See Art Galleries
With so many galleries in Santa Fe, it’s easy to miss some incredible art. Our tours help take the guesswork out of the experience: you’ll visit landmark galleries, stunning sculpture gardens, and unexpected highlights.
Be a Santa Fe Art Insider
Every tour with us feels like a behind-the-scenes experience. You’ll learn the stories behind the artwork on view and meet the gallerists who curate the work. You’ll feel welcomed and inspired to keep exploring on your own.
Decode the Language of Art
We don’t just tell you what you see—we teach you how to look. We’ll show you a technique for analyzing and interpreting art, so you’ll be able to investigate your personal taste and what you’re drawn to in a work of art.
See a Variety of Art
You’ll see a rich range of artwork, from museum-quality historic painting to compelling contemporary art. We showcase a variety of styles, so there’s something for everyone. Because our tours are designed for art experts and beginners alike, everyone in the group will feel welcome and engaged.
Stimulate Your Senses
After feasting our eyes on stunning artwork, it’s time for dessert: we’ll round out the experience with a visit to Kakawa Chocolate House, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of unique chocolate elixirs based on historic sipping chocolate blends.
-
We’ll visit three galleries that encompass a variety of artistic styles and media. We showcase galleries that are fun, unique, exciting, and demonstrate consistent quality. Time permitting, we’ll also visit a wind sculpture garden.
-
Chocolate elixirs are Kakawa Chocolate House’s specialty!
Chocolate elixirs are sipping chocolates, so they’re kind of like hot chocolate, but even better.
Elixirs are very rich and often incorporate herbs and spices. Many of Kakawa Chocolate House’s elixirs are based on historic Mesoamerican and European recipes.
-
This tour highlights three galleries plus a wind sculpture garden (time permitting), and it ends with a chocolate elixir tasting at Kakawa Chocolate House. You will see just the beginning of Canyon Road.
Our Canyon Road Arts District tour takes place entirely on Canyon Road, and you’ll visit 4-5 galleries.
If you want to focus more on art and history and don’t care as much about the chocolate, then we recommend the Canyon Road Arts District tour. If you’d like to change it up a bit and pair the gallery-going with a chocolate break, this is the tour for you!
Or, you could take both tours, since there are different galleries on each route!
-
We’ll meet at Nedra Matteucci Galleries. The address and parking information will be emailed to you upon booking.

We’ll be spending most of our time inside, but we will be outside, too, so dress for the weather.
This is a walking tour, so although there will be stops where you can stop and sit, we recommend wearing comfy shoes.

Our total walking distance from our starting location to our ending point is about 0.7 miles, and we make frequent stops along the way.
A portion of the route is slightly uphill, and the sidewalks are a bit difficult to navigate in a couple of spots.
If you have mobility concerns, please contact us before booking so that we can plan a great experience for you.

Yes! For visually impaired customers, we suggest booking a private tour so that we can shift our focus to sculpture and other artworks that can be touched. In fact, one of the artists we feature on this tour route is visually impaired himself.
Additionally, our guides are trained in museum education techniques that focus on detailed description of artworks. This means that they are comfortable describing all aspects of a work of art to visually impaired customers.
Please contact us to book a private tour for your group. If you choose to book online, please note that there are visually impaired customers in your group in the comments box at checkout so that we can prepare an awesome experience for you!
